Milan vs Roma: ‘We’ll show them we are stronger than they are’

Milan are hoping to end a run of five straight defeats against Roma after a dramatic first-half comeback at the Stadio Olimpico.

After an early penalty gave the hosts a 1-0 lead, the Giallorossi went into the break dominating possession, forcing a couple of key saves from Milos Raonic.

Graziano Pelle scored a stoppage-time consolation and Leonardo Bonucci converted a penalty after Ivan Perisic’s cross from the left.

Milan’s goal came courtesy of a cross from Mario Mandzukic, who was also impressive with the ball.

The Rossoneri, who have dropped points against Roma in the last three Serie A fixtures, were never in any danger of losing at the Stadium of Light.

They dominated possession for the majority of the first half, before Alessandro Florenzi converted a late penalty.

The second half saw Milan go into the dressing room to celebrate their victory but it wasn’t to be.

The Gialloblu managed just two shots on target, one of them on goal, and Andrea Pirlo and Alessandro Del Piero had the other.

The visitors also made several good passes to give the Gialls a free kick and one on goal.

Milans head coach Antonio Conte praised his team’s performances, but the hosts were far from pleased.

After the break, the Nerazzurri took control of proceedings.

They were able to take full advantage of the break and take a 1–0 lead.

The visitors were in control of the game, and they controlled the game throughout the second half.

Mancini said the result was good for the team.

“We had the balls to score a goal and it was a big surprise for us,” he said.

“It’s a great feeling, because we had a chance to win this game, but we failed.”
